Dufferin Research will be at the SERBIA GREEN BUILDING EXPO: an international exhibition and conference on sustainable buildings, The event takes place Februray 23 - 25.

When it comes to environmental issues, Richard Frank, has a long history of research and practical experience. Since in the early 1980's he has researched technology for solar heating and energy conservation and starting in 1986 designed and built an R2000 home that relied heavily on passive solar heating warming concrete & brick heat sinks, biomass heating, and the learned the benefits of microclimate modification via extensive planned reforestation which redirected prevailing winds (for climate moderation & snow control). This 14 year project was the start of his interest in both technological and natural means to attain a more sustainable lifestyle.

Technology, especially photovoltaic cells, has improved a lot in the past 25 years, but the goal of widespread adoption of sustainable building practices and lifestyle choices remains slow to gain traction. It remains a goal of his to help improve the current state of affairs through better research, consumer awareness and, with the co-operation of like minded companies, building connections between buyers and sellers of sustainable products.
